Nelson Brunanski grew up in Wakaw, Saskatchewan, the inspiration for the fictional town of Crooked Lake. He left for the city, yet his memories of small town life on the Prairies stayed with him. Brunanski received a B.A., B.Ed. and went on to a career teaching English, playing music and writing. He won a mystery writing competition at the Festival of Words in Moose Jaw in 2005. Frost Bite is Brunanski’s second published novel. He is currently at work on an adventure story set in Mexico. He lives with his wife Carole Clement in Vancouver, B.C. Canada
